Biography
Early Life & Career
Leighton Hooks was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas where he attended Ascension Academy. In addition to his focus on academics, he swam competitively both on his high school and a club team. He completed his bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson. There, he was a member of the Honors College called Collegium V. As he went through college, he realized he wanted to put his degree to and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others by becoming an attorney.
Legal Training
Leighton received his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University where he participated in the First Amendment Clinic. During law school, he also worked at the Deason Criminal Justice Reform Center on campus and externed at the National Labor Relations Board. Through these activities, he solidified his passion for the legal industry.
